Slovo is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and to ensuring that the editorial process is conducted in a fair, unbiased and transparent manner. In this regard, we adhere to the Code of conduct and best practice guidelines of the Committee On Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
It is the responsibility of authors to:
- ensure that articles submitted for publication are original and that they are the sole authors of the material presented;
- ensure that material submitted for publication has not been previously published;
- ensure the authenticity of the information presented in the articles and bring to the attention of the editors any erroneous information that may occur both during the publication process and after publication;
- inform the editors of any possible conflicts of interest.
It is the responsibility of editors to:
- ensure compliance with the journal’s ethical and integrity policies;
- guarantee a fair, unbiased and transparent peer review process;
- ensure that authors and members of the editorial board are informed of the journal’s ethical and integrity policies, as well as its publication policies;
- protect the confidentiality of information in manuscripts submitted for publication, except in cases where this information is shared with the authors, reviewers or the publisher.
It is the responsibility of reviewers to:
- review the articles objectively;
- make recommendations to authors to improve the quality of their texts;
- respect confidentiality;
- not use information from peer-reviewed articles for personal purposes without prior consent from the author;
- immediately notify the editors of any suspected plagiarism or violation of academic integrity.
Malpractice policies
Slovo is committed to upholding academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism. All articles submitted for publication will be subjected to a similarity check using the Turnitin plagiarism detection software. In the event of proven plagiarism, the manuscript will be excluded from the publication process. Similarly, in the case of proven plagiarism in an already published article, the article will be excluded from the volume. In the event that an author is accused of plagiarism or submits an article previously published in other journals, Slovo will immediately and permanently terminate the collaboration with that author.
If the conduct of an editor or reviewer violates the ethical principles of the journal, Slovo will immediately and permanently terminate its collaboration with that editor or reviewer.
Slovo will take the necessary steps to correct, amend and retract any information that has already been published, and will publish an apology where appropriate to all relevant parties.
